GB 11551-2014/XG1-2026 The protection of the occupants in the event of a frontal collision for motor vehicle,includes Amendment 1
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements and test methods for the protection of the occupant in seat on outer side in front row in the event of a frontal collision for vehicle.
This standard is applicable to Type M1 motor vehicle, Type N1 motor vehicle with the maximum design total mass not greater than 2500kg and multipurpose goods vehicle.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 20913-2007 and the following apply.
3.1
protective system
internal installed component and machine used for constraining occupants
3.2
type of protective system
protective machines which do not differ in such main respects as:
——manufacturing process technology;
——dimension;
——material.
3.3
angle of impact
the included angle between the straight line vertical to front face of barrier and the longitudinal heading direction line of vehicle

barrier face
face of a part of barrier closely against plywood
3.5
vehicle type
vehicles which do not differ in such main aspects as:
——the vehicle length and width adversely affecting the collision test result;
——the structure, dimension, contour and material of horizontal front plane part of vehicle passing through the R point of the driver's seat, which adversely affects the collision test result;
——the shape and internal dimension of passenger compartment as well as the type of protective system, which adversely affects the collision test result;
——the arrangement (in front, back or middle) and orientation (horizontal or longitudinal) of engine;
——the unladen kerb mass of vehicle adversely affecting the collision test result;
——the optional equipment or machine provided by the manufacturer and adversely affecting the collision test result.
3.6
passenger compartment
the space containing occupants, which is composed of roof, floor, side wall, vehicle door, glass window, front wall, rear wall or rear seat back support plate

R point
the vehicle structure-related reference point of each seat as specified by the manufacturer
3.8
H point
the reference point of each seat as determined according to the procedure described in Annex A
3.9
unladen kerb mass
the mass of vehicle in operation state with no driver, occupant and goods, but the fuel tank is filled with fuel accounting for 90% of total capacity and with accompanied tools and spare tire (if these are provided by vehicle manufacturer as standard equipment)
3.10
multipurpose goods vehicle
the goods vehicle mainly used for carrying goods in design and structure, provided with long-head vehicle body and cab structure (more than half of the engine length is in front of the most front point of front windshield glass of vehicle, or the steering wheel center is in behind the front 1/4 part of the total length of vehicle), and open boxcar, as well as with number of occupants not greater than 5 (including the driver) or the maximum design total mass not greater than 3500kg
4 Requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 H point of each seat shall be determined according to the procedure specified in Annex A.
4.1.2 If the protective system of the front-row seating position includes safety belt, the safety belt shall meet the requirements of GB 14166.
4.1.3 For the seating position equipped with the protective system including safety belt and used for placing manikin, the safety belt anchorages shall meet the requirements of GB 14167.
4.1.4 The seat fitted with airbag shall be provided with airbag prompt information:
——The vehicle fitted with front airbag of the driver shall be provided with durable and obvious "AIRBAG" font style information or corresponding information indicated within the steering wheel circumference;
——The vehicle fitted with occupant airbag shall be provided with durable an obvious "AIRBAG" font style information or corresponding information indication; the warning label shall contain information as shown in 4.1.5.
4.1.5 The vehicle fitted with one or more front protective airbag(s) shall be provided with prompt information that placing rear-facing child restraint system on the seat with front airbag protection may generate extreme hazard;
——This information shall at least include the pattern and content of warning label as shown in Figure 1; the minimum overall dimension is 120mm×60mm or equivalent area. The above label may also be other type, but its verbal content shall meet the warning content in Figure 1.
——The warning label shall include Chinese warning content.
——For the front-row seat with front airbag protection, the warning label shall be enduringly kept on each surface of sun shield on occupant side; the sun shield, whether opened or closed, shall have a warning label visible at any time. Alternatively, a warning label is attached to the visible surface of sun shield while another shall be attached to the ceiling behind the sun shield; at least one warning label is visible at any time; the words in warning label shall be liable to be read by the user on this seat. For other seats with front airbag protection in the vehicle, the warning label shall be directly attached in front surface of relevant seat, and shall be visible at any time for the user placing rear-facing child restraint system on this seat; the words in warning label shall be liable to be read by the user on this seat. This requirement is not applicable to the seat with protective function of automatic front airbag release when placing rear-facing child restraint system.
——The following information shall be prompted in Chinese in the user manual: "do not place rear-facing child restraint system on the seat with front airbag protection (activated)!"; warning illustration.
