1 Scope
This Part specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for thin wall insulation cables up to and including 3kV for rolling stock (including multiple units).
This Part is applicable to rolling stock (including multiple units), other rail vehicles may also refer to the provisions of this Part.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions and those specified in GB/T 2900.10-2001 apply.
3.1
Rated voltage
The reference voltage for cable construction design and electrical property test, expressed by Uo, in V.
Note 1: Uo is the voltage effective value between any insulated conductor and the "ground" (the mental sheath or ambient medium of cable). In AC system, the rated voltage of cable shall be at least equal to the nominal voltage of the system using these cables. While in DC system, the nominal voltage of that system shall not be larger than 1.5 times of the rated voltage of the cable.
