SJ/T 11685-2017 Specifications of lithium ion cells and batteries used in self-balancing vehicle
1 Scope
This Standard defines the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, quality assessment, marking, package, transportation and storage of lithium ion cells and batteries used in self-balancing vehicle.
This standard is applicable to the lithium ion cells and batteries used in self-balancing vehicle.
This standard is also reference applicable to lithium ion cells and batteries used in the similar products such as the scooters, which have no self-balancing function.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
lithium ion cell
basic manufactured unit provides the conversion of electrical energy and chemical energy relaying on the movement of lithium ions between positive and negative electrodes, that usually consists of electrodes, separators, electrolyte, container, and terminals, and that is designed to be charged electrically
Note to entry: lt is simplified to cell in the following part.
3.2
lithium ion battery
energy storage device, which is comprised of one or more cells or modules electrically connected, that may include protection and monitoring devices providing information(current/voltage/etc. )to the system
Note 1 to entry: lt is simplified to battery in the following part.
Note 2 to entry: It may contain protective cover provided by the terminal or other interconnected devices.
Note 3 to entry: Rewrite IEC 62619: 2017. definition 3.10.
3.3
self-balancing vehicle
a wheeled and manned mobile platform based on inverted pendulum model and static instability principle with a rechargeable electric drive train, that keep dynamic balance with autonomous or manual control mode, referred to 'self-balancing vehicle'
3.4
limited charging voltage
rated highest charging voltage of the cell or battery specified by the manufacturer
3.5
discharge cut off voltage
lowest load voltage of the cell or battery safe discharging specified by the manufacturer
3.6
end of discharge voltage
load voltage specified by the manufacturer to terminate the discharge behavior of a cell or battery during cyclic use
3.7
maximum continual discharging current.
maximum continuous discharging current of the cell or battery specified by the manufacturer Note to entry: Continual current refers to the discharging current works for not less than 1 min, and it should be verified by experiment if necessary.
3.8
rated capacity
capacity value of a cell or battery declared by the manufacturer Note to entry: The unit is Ah or mAh.
3.9
rated energy Watt-hour rating
energy value of a cell or battery determined under specified condition declared by the manufacturer
Note 1 to entry: The unit is Wh.
Note 2 to entry: lt is calculated by multiplying nominal voltage by rated capacity(the unit is Ah) .
Note 3 to entry: Rewrite MH/T 1052-2013, definition 3.11.
