3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
electrical self-balancing vehicle
wheeled manned moving platform based on inverted pendulum model and static instability principle, equipped with a rechargeable electric drive system and maintaining dynamic balance in autonomous or manual control mode
Note: electrical self-balancing vehicle is referred to as self-balancing vehicle for short.
3.2
steering column
component used to control the steering of the electrical self-balancing vehicle, which may be equipped with other electronic display or lighting devices
3.3
remote control software
application software installed on an intelligent mobile terminal, which is able to set, control or monitor an electrical self-balancing vehicle through wireless connection
3.4
safety alarm
definite alarm (such as sound, light or vibration) sent to and can be noticed by the user in case of internal fault detected (e.g. abnormal voltage of battery or fault of balance control unit) or dangerous driving or abnormal operation of the vehicle
4 Classification of electrical self-balancing vehicles
4.1 The electrical self-balancing vehicles may be divided into the followings by the number of wheels:
a) Electrical one-wheel self-balancing vehicle: Electrical self-balancing vehicle with only one wheel (including dual-tyre wheel);
b) Electric two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle: Electrical self-balancing vehicle with two wheels;
c) Electric multi-wheel self-balancing vehicle: Electrical self-balancing vehicle with three or more wheels.
4.2 The electrical self-balancing vehicles may be divided into the followings by steering method:
a) Electrical self-balancing vehicle with steering column;
b) Electrical self-balancing vehicle without steering column.
4.3 The electrical self-balancing vehicles may be divided into the followings by saddle:
a) Electrical self-balancing vehicle with saddle;
b) Electrical self-balancing vehicle without saddle;
4.4 The electrical self-balancing vehicles may be divided into the followings by charging mode:
a) Charging-type electrical self-balancing vehicle with external power supply: This type of electrical self-balancing vehicle is not directly connected with AC power grid during charging, but connected with AC power grid for charging via a charger or external power supply;
