1 Scope
This specification specifies the prefabrication, installation and construction techniques, and quality requirements of jacket piping in petrochemical industry. This specification is applicable to the construction and acceptance of newly-constructed, re-constructed and extended-constructed engineering projects in petrochemical industry.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this specification, the following terms and definitions apply.

jacket piping
piping composed of inner pipe and casing
3.2
location plate
stop block for maintaining the minimum distance between inner pipe and casing
3.3
end plate
steel plate for connecting the end of casing with the outside of inner tube to form a closed space
3.4
communicating pipe
pipe in the jacket piping system that communicates the partition parts such as flange, valves and end plates
3.5
full jacket
type of jacket piping with inner pipe completely surrounded by casing
3.6
semi-jacket
type of jacket piping with inner pipe weld not surrounded by casing
4 Basic requirements
4.1 See Figure 1 for the structure of jacket piping. Jacket pipings are divided into full jackets and semi-jackets, as shown in Figures 2 and 3.
