SH/T 1613.1 Petroleum o-xylene - Part 1: Specification;
SH/T 1613.2 Petroleum o-xylene - Part 2: Determination for purity of and impurity of hydrocarbon - Gas chromatography method
This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces SH/T 1613.1-1995 Petroleum o-xylene.
The following main changes have been made with respect to SH/T 1613.1-1995 Petroleum o-xylene:
——the name of this standard is modified;
——indicators such as p-xylene+m-xylene content, cumene content, styrene content and bromine index are added (see Table 1; Clause 3 of Edition 1995);
——definition of total distillation range is added (see Table 1; Clause 3 of Edition 1995);
——"Purity" is changed as "o-xylene content". “Non-aromatic content + C9 aromatics” is changed as "non-aromatic content + content of C9 aromatic or above" (see Table 1; Clause 3 of Edition 1995);
——non-volatile, water-soluble acid-base indicator is deleted (see Table 1; Clause 3 of Edition 1995);
——test methods for total sulfur in SH/T 1820 and SH/T 0689 are added, and SH/T 1820 is used for arbitration test (see Table 1; Clause 3 of Edition 1995).
——sampling and inspection rules are modified (see Clauses 4 and 5; Clause 4 of Edition 1995);
——marking, packaging, transportation and storage are modified (see Clauses 6 and 7; Clause 5 of Edition 1995);
——Annex A “Safety” is added (see Annex A).
This part was proposed by China Petrochemical Corporation.
This part is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee on Petrochemistry of National Technical Committee on Chemical of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 63/SC4).
The previous edition of this part is as follows:
——SH/T 1613.1-1995.
Petroleum o-xylene - Part 1: Specification
Warning: the production, transportation, storage and use of products specified in this Standard can be hazardous if suitable precautions are not observed. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with the product. It is the responsibility of the users of this Standard to establish appropriate safety and precaution measures and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
1 Scope
This part specifies requirements, sampling, inspection rules, marking, labeling, accompanying documents, packaging, transportation and storage of petroleum o-xylene.
This part is applicable to petroleum o-xylene obtained by petroleum refining process, which is mainly used as a raw material for the production of chemical products such as phthalic anhydride, pesticides and solvents.
Molecular structure: C6H4 (CH3)2
Relative molecular mass: 106.16 (in accordance with international relative atomic mass in 2016)
