1 Scope
This standard specifies test methods of lead and cadmium content in automobiles materials.
"X-ray fluorescence spectrometry" is applicable to screening and fast determining the lead and cadmium content in automobiles materials.
"Optical emission spectrometric method for determination of lead and cadmium in steel and iron, copper and copper alloy, and aluminum and aluminum alloy materials" is applicable to quantitative determination of lead and cadmium content in steel and iron, copper and copper alloy, and aluminum and aluminum alloy rod or bulk materials in automobiles materials.
"Atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry for determination of lead and cadmium content in automobiles materials" is applicable to quantitative determination of lead and cadmium content in automobiles materials.

3 X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry
3.1 Principle
Put the prepared sample into the sample room of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry; carry out X-ray fluorescence spectrometric analysis on the lead and cadmium content in the sample according to the analysis mode selected, and judge whether the lead and cadmium content conform to the screening limit, and whether accurate determination is necessary.
3.2 Reagents and materials
3.2.1 Boric acid: analytically pure, baked for 1h at 105℃, and stored in the dryer.
3.2.2 Standard material containing lead and cadmium elements.
3.3 Apparatus
3.3.1 X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.
3.3.2 Cutter.
3.3.3 Grinding equipment: pulverizer or grinder.
3.3.4 Tablet press: with a working pressure not less than 20MPa.
