Technical requirements of blade connector for automobile
This standard is applicable to blade connectors (hereinafter referred to as “connectors”) for motor vehicles such as automobiles and motorcycles, as well as tractors. The plug connectors used in the connectors must comply with ZB T36 003-86 Blade connector for automobile.
1 Technical requirements
1.1 The connectors shall be in accordance with those specified in this standard, and shall be manufactured according to the drawings and technical documents approved through established procedure.
1.2 Working environment of connectors
1.2.1 Ambient temperature: -40~75℃
1.2.2 The average maximum relative humidity of the wettest month is 90%~95% and the average minimum temperature of this month is 25℃.
1.3 Connectors of same types, specifications/dimensions and line number shall be interchangeable. The locating and self-locking mechanism, if any, shall be reliable and flexible.
1.4 The plug sheath and socket sheath of the connector shall have the same surface color and be free form obvious defects such as deformation, scratches and cracks on the surface.
1.5 The blade plug or blade socket shall be placed in an insulating sheath and can withstand a tensile force of 49N without damage.
1.6 The self-locking types of connectors include sheath self-locking and connector self-locking. After the connector is released from the sheath self-locking mechanism, the plug-in and plug-out force shall meet those specified in Table 1.

1.7 Electrical performance
1.7.1 Insulation dielectric strength The position between the plug connectors in the connector and between the plug connector and the sheath shall be able to withstand a test with a power frequency of 50Hz and actual sinusoidal waveform voltage of 550V for 1min, and shall be free from breakdown damage after such test. During production, such test may be replaced by a test with a voltage of 660V for 1s.
1.7.2 Voltage drop After the connector is plugged well, the voltage drop of each pair of plug connectors shall not exceed 3mV/A. At the end of the humidity resistance, vibration resistance, low temperature resistance and aging resistance tests, the voltage drop of each pair of plug connectors shall not exceed 6mV/A.
1.8 The vibration and impact resistance of the connector shall meet those specified in Table 2.
Table 2
Item vibration frequency Hz Maximum acceleration m/s2 Vibration time/impact counts
Vibration 50 98 4h
Impact — 147 10,000 times
1.9 Oil resistance After subjected to the oil resistance test, the connector shall be free from abnormal deformation and its basic dimensions shall be in accordance with this standard and the drawings.
1.10 Aging resistance After the connector is subjected to the aging test, the plug and socket sheaths shall be free from brittle rupture and still meet the requirements for electrical performance.
1.11 Plug-in and pull-out durability After the connector has been plugged in and out for 50 times, the voltage drop of each pair of plug connectors shall not exceed 3mV/A.
2 Test method and inspection rules
2.1 The connectors may not be delivered before passing the inspections and shall be accompanied with the supporting documents for conformity of product quality.
2.2 The end-of-manufacturing inspection items of the plug and socket sheaths include:
a. Basic dimensions;
b. Appearance.
2.3 Type test Products used for type test shall be sampled from those from a same batch and passing the end-of-manufacturing inspection. There shall be at least 15 pairs of samples, divided in 3 groups.
2.3.1 Group I shall be subjected to the durability test.
2.3.2 Group II shall be subjected to the following tests: plug-in and plug-out force test, voltage drop test, interchangeability test, and insulating dielectric strength test.
2.3.3 Group III shall be subjected to the following tests: vibration test, impact test, low temperature test, high temperature test, moisture resistance test, oil resistance test and aging resistance test.
2.4 All the tests shall be carried out under the following conditions:
a. the plug connectors used in the connector shall be crimped with wires with corresponding sectional areas, which shall meet the requirements of JB 677-71 Low-voltage wires for automobile and tractor and be put into insulating sheaths.
b. The precision grade of the voltmeter shall reach instrument grade, and that of the ammeter shall not be inferior to Grade 1.
2.5 Appearance inspection Visual observation shall be adopted and the appearance shall meet the requirements of 1.4.
2.6 Interchangeability test Dismantle 5 sets of connectors of the same type and dimensions, mix their parts, and assemble them into connectors in arbitrary combination. and the assembled connectors shall meet the requirements of 1.6 and 1.7.2.
2.7 Voltage drop test Plug the connector pairs well, apply a current of 2~10A, and check them according to Figure 1 and Table 3 (the connectors are allowed to be drilled). This test shall be carried out immediately after power-on and the value of voltage drop shall meet the requirements of 1.7.2.
