The standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and labeling, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of desiccated coconut.
The standard is applicable to the particle products (known as desiccated coconut) whose raw material is fully ripe coconut fruit, produced after the process of skinning, shelling, seed coat removing, cleaning, crushing, juicing (or not), drying and so on, but not applicable to other products.
