Structural silicon sealants for building curtain wall
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and labeling, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of structural silicon sealants for building curtain wall (hereinafter referred to as structural silicon sealants).
This standard is applicable to structural silicon sealants for building curtain wall with a design service life of not less than 25 years.

3 Classification and labeling
3.1 Classification
Products are classified into one-component type (1) and two-component type (2) by composition.
Products are classified into aluminum (AL), glass (G) and miscellaneous metals (M) by applicable substrates.
3.2 Labeling
Products are labeled in the following order: name, classification, and number of this standard.
Example: the two-component structural silicon sealant for building curtain wall of aluminum and glass substrate is labeled as:

4 Requirements
4.1 General requirements
The design service life of structural silicon sealant shall not be less than 25 years, and the use conditions and maintained properties shall be clearly defined. See Table 1 for the general requirements of products.

The stiffness and elastic modulus test of structural silicon sealants shall meet the requirements of Annex A.
The structural silicon sealants may be tested according to the requirements of Annex D, GB 16776-2005 during construction.
4.2 Appearance
4.2.1 The structural silicon sealants shall be fine and uniform paste or viscous body free of bubbles, caking, crusting or gelatinization, and shall be free of non-dispersible precipitates after stirring.
4.2.2 The colors of various components of the two-component structural silicon sealants shall be obviously different. The product color may also be agreed by the supplier and the purchaser, and shall not be obviously different from that of the sample agreed by them.
4.3 Physical and mechanical properties
The physical and mechanical properties of products shall meet those specified in Table 2.

4.4 Compatibility
4.4.1 The compatibility between structural silicon sealants and accessories for structural assembly system shall meet the requirements of Annex A, GB 16776-2005.
4.4.2 The adhesion between structural silicon sealants and substrates used in practical works shall meet the requirements of Annex B, GB 16776-2005.
4.4.3 The compatibility between structural silicon sealants and the materials they are exposed to shall meet the requirements of Annex B.
5 Test methods
5.1 Basic requirements
5.1.1 Standard test conditions
Standard test conditions of the laboratory: temperature of (23±2)℃ and relative humidity of (50±5)%.
5.1.2 Preparation of adhesion specimens
5.1.2.1 Specimen preparation
Before specimen preparation, the structural silicon sealants used for test shall be placed for more than 24h under standard conditions. The test substrate shall be cleaned with cleaning agent. Two-component specimens shall be mixed according to the ratio required by the manufacturer.
