1 Scope
This Part of JB/T 5000 specifies the ultrasonic, magnetic particle and penetrant inspection methods for forged steel and their quality grades.
This Part is applicable to the non-destructive inspection of forged steel for heavy machinery use.
Adoption of the non-destructive inspection method specified in this Part may involve dangerous materials, operation and equipments, so that personnel participating in the non-destructive inspection shall comply with the relevant specifications for safety and health protection.
The non-destructive inspection method, position and quality grade of forgings shall be indicated in the forging drawing, technical documents and technical specifications for procurement.
