Sodium bisulfite for industrial use
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage of sodium bisulfite for industrial use.
This standard is applicable to sodium bisulfite for industrial use, which is mainly used for bleaching cotton fabrics and as a reducing agent in dyes, paper making, leather making, chemical synthesis, and other industries. It may also be used to synthesize intermediates, antichlors, mordants, and depigmenting agents of organic drugs.
Molecular formula: NaHSO3
Relative molecular mass: 104.06 (as per the international relative atomic mass in 2001)
