This standard is corresponding to "Dimensions of Rigid Rectangular Packages - Transport Packages" (ISO 3394: 1984; English version). This standard is not equivalent to ISO 3394: 1994 with main changes as follows:
- plan dimensions not applicable to cargo arrangement of 1200mm×1000mm unit like 1200mm×800mm, 1200mm×600mm, 1200mm×400mm and 800mm×600mm and their arrangement diagrams were deleted;
- package module dimension, plan dimension and arrangement diagram of 550mm×366mm transport packages was added;
This standard replaces "Dimensions of Rigid Rectangular Packages - Transport Packages" (GB 4892-1996). Compared with GB 4892-1996, the main changes in this standard are as follows:
- "plan dimension of rigid rectangular transport packages" in "Scope" was modified to "maximum plan dimension of rigid rectangular transport packages" (see Chapter 1);
- "the plan dimension of transport packages may be obtained by multiplying or dividing the modular dimension by an integer (600mm×400mm) or arranging through partition method based on the cargo dimension of package unit" in "Principle" was modified to "the plan dimension of transport packages may be obtained by multiplying or dividing the modular dimension by an integer" (see Chapter 4);
- the unit cargo dimensions of 1200mm×1000mm, 1200mm×800mm and 1140mm×1140mm were modified to 1200mm×1000mm and 1100mm×1100mm (see Chapter 6);
- plan dimensions not applicable to cargo arrangement of 1200mm×1000mm unit like 1200mm×800mm, 1200mm×600mm, 1200mm×400mm and 800mm×600mm and their arrangement diagrams were deleted (see Table 1 and Figure 1);
- the partition dimension of 1140mm×1140mm unit cargo and its arrangement diagram were deleted;
- package module dimension, plan dimension and arrangement diagram of 550mm×366mm transport packages was added (see Table 2 and Figure 2);
This standard was proposed by Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China
This standard is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee on Package of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 49).

Dimensions of Rigid Rectangular Packages - Transport Packages
硬质直方体运输包装尺寸系列
1 Scope
This standard specifies the maximum plan dimension of rigid rectangular transport packages packed with paper, wood, plastic and metal materials.
This standard is applicable to the transport packages of unit cargoes transported by highway, railway and waterway; the transport packages of non-unit cargoes may be implemented by reference.

GB/T 15233 Packaging - Unit Load Size (GB/T 15233-2008, ISO 3676:1983, MOD)
3 Principle
The plan dimension of transport packages may be obtained by multiplying or dividing the modular dimension by an integer.
4 Package Module Dimension
The package module dimensions of transport packages are 600mm×400mm and 550mm×366mm.
5 Unit Load Size
The unit load size unit load size formed by transport packages shall meet the requirements of GB/T 15233.
6 Plan Dimension
6.1 Examples of plan dimensions of unit cargoes (1200mm×1000mm) based on modular dimension of 600mm×400mm and calculated following the principle of Chapter 3 are set forth in Table 1 with arrangement in Figure 1.
