1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods and inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of drum brake linings for automobile (hereinafter referred to “brake lining”).
This standard is applicable to brake linings used in the drum brake of type M, type N and, and type O motor vehicles.

4 Requirements
4.1 Appearance quality
The appearance quality of the brake lining shall meet the requirements of JC/T 2103-2012, 2.2 and 2.3.
4.2 Dimension and tolerance
The basic dimension of the brake lining shall be determined by the purchaser, and the thickness tolerance and width tolerance shall meet the requirements of Table 1 and Table 2, respectively.

4.3 Basic requirements relating to health and safety
Basic requirements for brake linings relating to health and safety shall meet the requirements of GB 5763-2018, Clause 4.
4.4 Impact strength
The impact strength of a brake lining shall not be less than 0.30 J/cm2.
4.5 Internal shear strength
The internal shear strength of a brake lining shall not be less than 8.0 MPa.
4.6 Density
The density of a brake lining shall be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, and the deviation shall not be greater than the nominal value by ± 10%.
4.7 Break performance
4.7.1 The break performance of drum brake linings for type M1 vehicles shall meet those specified in QC/T 564.
4.7.2 The break performance of drum brake linings for type M2, type M3, type N, and type O vehicles shall meet those specified in QC/T 239.
