Inorganic chemicals for industrial use—
Determination of impurity element—
Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES)
Warning! Some reagents used in this test method are toxic or corrosive, so be careful when operating! If it is splashed on the skin, it shall be washed with water immediately, and serious cases shall be treated immediately; the high-pressure argon cylinders are used in this test method, which should be operated according to the safety operation regulations of high-pressure cylinders; after igniting the plasma, the torch chamber door should not be opened to prevent high-frequency radiation from harming the body; pay attention to safe use of electricity.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the principle, reagents, apparatus, equipment, analytical procedures, precision and recovery rate of determining metallic and nonmetallic impurity elements in inorganic chemicals for industrial use by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES).
This standard is applicable to direct injection of liquid test samples containing various impurities in inorganic chemicals or test solutions after removal of matrix, and determination by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 4470 and the following apply.
3.1
plasma
ionized gas with an ionization degree greater than 0.1% and equal quantity of positive and negative charges
3.2
high frequency generator
high-frequency power source which provides high-frequency energy for the coupling coil and the plasma
3.3
plasma torch
device for maintaining stable discharge of ICP, which is usually composed of three-layer concentric quartz tubes, in which coolant gas is fed into the outer tube, auxiliary gas is fed into the middle tube, and carrier gas is fed into the inner tube
