This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 2945-1989 Ammonium nitrate in whole. The following technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 2945-1989:
--The warnings, surface quality of crystalline ammonium nitrate (see 3.1.1), sampling of bulk product (see 5.3.2), determination of products qualified index (see 5.5.1), and requirements of transportation (see 6.3) is added;
--Determination method (reduction-distillation-titration) of ammonium nitrate content is added, ammonium nitrate content is calculated as the referee method through the determination of total nitrogen;
--Normative references (see chapter 2), grade of ammonium nitrate for agricultural products and technical index (see chapter 4), marking and dimension of packaging (see 7.1, 7.2 and 7.4) is modified.
This standard was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
This standard is under jurisdiction of SAC/TC 105/SC 2 National Technical Committee on Fertilizer and Soil Conditioner of Standardization Administration of China.
The previous editions of the standard replaced by this standard are as follows:
--GB/T 2945-1989.
Introduction
Ammonium Nitrate
Warning--This standard does not address all of the safety concerns. The user is obliged to take appropriate safety precautions and guarantee the compliance of relevant national laws and regulations. Ammonium nitrate, as an oxidant, is helpful to combust when a flammable object catches fire; may explode fiercely with a mixture of combustible powder, intense vibration, and rapid heating; can form an explosive mixture with reductant, organic matter and combustible; irritants to respiratory tract, eye and skin.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and safety of ammonium nitrate.
This standard is applicable to ammonium nitrate neutralized with ammonia and nitric acid.
