Steel wire ropes for balance
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, ordering information, materials, technical requirements, inspection and test methods, qualification criteria, acceptance, safety, use and maintenance, packaging, marking, and quality certificate of steel wire ropes for balance (hereinafter referred to as "steel wire ropes").
This document is applicable to round steel wire ropes and flat steel wire ropes for balance in coal, metal, non-metal and other mines.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 8706 apply.
4 Classification
4.1 The classification of steel wire ropes according to structure shall meet the requirements of GB/T 8706, as shown in Table 1. If the purchaser does not clearly specify the specific structure of the steel wire rope, the manufacturer may determine it on their own within the same group in Table 1.
4.2 The round steel wire ropes are classified into right interactive laying and left interactive laying according to the laying type and laying direction, as shown in Figures 1a) and 1b). The laying method of inner rope for multi-stand ropes in groups 4 to 9 in Table 1 shall be determined by the manufacturer.
