3 Determination of Moisture
3.1 General rules
This chapter specifies the determination methods of total moisture and air dry basis moisture in coke.
3.2 Theory
Weigh a certain amount of coke specimen, put it into a drying oven which has been blasted in advance, and then dry at certain temperature until it reaches constant mass. Calculate the mass fraction (%) of moisture according to the mass loss of coke sample.
3.3 Reagents
3.3.1 Allochroic silica gel: industrial product.
3.3.2 Anhydrous calcium chloride: chemically pure, granular.
