Packaging material - Volatile corrosion inhibiting film
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of the volatile corrosion inhibiting film.
It is applicable to the production, testing and use of the volatile corrosion inhibiting film (hereinafter referred to as VCIF).

3 Classification
By use, VCIF can be used for ferrous metal and multi-metal; by product form, it is divided into roll type and sheet type.
Note: The VCIF for ferrous metal is applicable to steel and cast iron, and that for multi-metal is applicable to steel, copper, brass and aluminum.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Appearance
The surface shall be smooth and clean, and shall be free from perforation, bubble, tear, scratch and other defects.
4.2 Dimensional deviation
4.2.1 Thickness
The thickness is generally 0.05mm~0.15mm. The limit deviation of thickness shall meet those specified in GB/T 4456.
4.2.2 Length and width
4.2.2.1 Rolled VCIF
The deviation of fold diameter or width shall meet those specified in GB/T 4456.
The segments per roll shall not be more than 4 and the length of each segment shall not be less than 20m. The head of the segment shall be marked.
It shall be wound on the roll core firmly and tightly. The length of the roll core shall be 10mm larger than the width of coiled material and shall be made of hard material. The roll core shall be free from bending or deformation during storage, transportation and use.
4.2.2.2 Sheet VCIF
The length and width shall be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser with the deviation meeting those specified in GB/T 4456.
The sheet VCIF shall be neatly stacked to prevent wrinkles.
4.3 Rust-proof property
It shall meet those specified in Table 1.

4.4 Physical property
It shall meet those specified in Table 2.

4.5 Mark
When required, each unit package shall be marked with product name, classification and code.
5 Test methods
5.1 Sampling and preprocessing
5.1.1 Sampling method
Samples of rolled products shall be taken after removing the outermost two layers; samples of sheet products shall be taken under the fourth sheet from the top of the packaged products. Samples shall be sealed and packaged.
5.1.2 Preprocessing
Unless otherwise specified, the sample shall be kept in sealed packaging and placed in an environment with a relative humidity of not more than 80% and temperature of 20℃~30℃ for at least 4h before the test.
5.2 Appearance
It shall be visually inspected under natural light.
5.3 Thickness
It shall be tested in accordance with those specified in GB/T 6672.
5.4 Length and width
They shall be tested in accordance with those specified in GB/T 6673.
5.5 Volatile inhibiting ability (VIA) for corrosion
It shall be tested in accordance with those specified in Annex A.
5.6 VIA after consumption
It shall be tested in accordance with those specified in Annex A.
5.7 Contact corrosion
It shall be tested in accordance with those specified in GB/T 16266. Steel test piece shall be used for ferrous metal, and steel and aluminum test piece shall be used for multi-metal.
