This standard specifies the classification and designation, order contents, dimensions, appearance and permissible deviation, manufacturing methods, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packing, marking and quality certificate of oil-hardened and tempered steel wire for mechanical springs (hereinafter referred to as steel wire).
This standard is applicable to the manufacture of various oil-hardened and tempered carbon and low alloy steel wires with circular cross sections, which are used for mechanical springs.
