GB/T 17692-2024 Measurement methods of net power for automotive engines and drive motor
1 Scope
This document describes the method of performing the net power test and the maximum 30 min power test of the drive motor system based on the curve of net power as the function of rotating speed proposed by the manufacturer for engines and drive motor systems for Categories M and N motor vehicles.
This document is applicable to reciprocating piston engines (spark ignition or compression ignition) or rotary engines (spark ignition or compression ignition), instead of free piston engines.
This document is applicable to drive motor systems.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 17691-2018, GB 18352.6-2016 and the following apply.
3.1
net power
power measured with the specified test method on the test bench at the corresponding speed at the crankshaft end of the engine (or the shaft end of the drive motor system) or the end of its equivalent part, with engine products corrected by the standard atmospheric condition
Note: The net power of the drive motor system is equivalent to the peak power of the drive motor system specified in GB/T 18488.

maximum 30 min power
average of the maximum net power continuously output by drive motor system within 30 min, according to the specified test method
3.3
drive motor system
system installed on an electric vehicle to provide driving force for the vehicle and realize the mutual conversion between mechanical energy and electric energy
3.4
hybrid electric vehicle
vehicle which is able to obtain power from at least the following two kinds of on-board energy storage devices:
——a consumable fuel;
——a rechargeable electrical energy/power storage device

dual-fuel engine
engine that can burn diesel oil and another fuel simultaneously
3.6
dual-fuel model
normal operating model where a dual-fuel engine uses diesel and another fuel simultaneously under certain operating conditions
3.7
diesel model
normal operating model where a dual-fuel engine only uses diesel under any operating conditions
4 Overall principle
4.1 Product certification
4.1.1 The engines or drive motor systems submitted for certification in accordance with the requirements of Clause 5 (with the main characteristics and information related to test as specified in Annex A or Annex B) shall be subjected to product certification tests in accordance with Annex C or Annex D.
4.1.2 The product certification test results shall meet the requirements of 6.1.
