3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 16507.1 and the following ones apply.
3.1 Cold forming
The plastic deformation processing conducted below the recrystallization temperature of work piece material.
In engineering practice, the plastic deformation conducted below the environmental temperature are often called cold forming; and the plastic deformation processing between cold forming and hot forming are referred to as warm forming.
3.2 Hot forming
The plastic deformation processing conducted above the recrystallization temperature of work piece material.
3.3 Tube forming
The fabricating process, like pipe bending, upsetting, necking and flaring.
4 Basic Requirements
4.1 The boiler manufacturer shall have corresponding manufacturing license required in GB/T 16507.1; welding and non-destructive inspection personnel shall have corresponding qualification for personnel of special equipment and shall be trained and managed according to relevant requirements; personnel in charge of lifting and transportation shall also fulfill the qualification requirements for safety operation on the post.
4.2 The structure of boiler pressure components shall meet those specified in GB/T 16507.3 and the strength calculation shall meet the requirements of GB/T 16507.4.
4.3 The fabrication document and the qualified drawing shall meet the production condition of the manufacturer.
4.4 The fabrication of pressure components shall be in proper process and method and free from additional stress and injurious defects which will influence the safety and use.
4.5 All the equipment and instruments involved in the fabrication of boiler pressure components shall meet the given precision and be tested or corrected periodically.
4.6 Raw materials shall meet the requirements of both GB/T 16507.2 and the design drawing.
5 Marking
5.1 Material marking
5.1.1 Procedures for identifying the materials of pressure components and main bearing members shall be formulated.
5.1.2 The material marking for main pressure components of boils (drum, head, header and tubes with the nominal outside diameter larger than or equal to 219mm) shall be traceable to the material quality certificate, and for other pressure components (tubes with the nominal outside diameter less than 219mm) and non-pressure but bearing load components (supports and hangers on drums and header products) shall be easy to be identified so as to avoid the mixture of materials.
5.2 Material marking transfer
During fabrication, material marking shall be reserved. Before cutting of materials of boiler pressure components, marking shall be transferred and shall be easy to identify.
5.3 Markings in the fabrication
5.3.1 There are temporary markings and permanent markings in the product fabrication.
5.3.2 Welding markings and non-destructive testing markings shall be reserved as permanent markings; if markings are covered during fabrication or lost as the result of processing, marking transfer shall be done.
5.4 Marking method
5.4.1 The follow marking methods or their combinations shall be adopted:
a) Steel seal;
b) Vibration etching or other etching tools;
c) Marking by painting or with markers;
d) Other methods causing no damage to the safety of boilers (e.g. sticking ticket).
5.4.2 Steel impression marking shall not be used under the following conditions:
a) The tube made of stainless steel and less than 5mm in wall thickness;
b) In the area of inner and outer arcs of tube bend;
c) Materials on which steel impression marking are prohibited by the customer.
5.4.3 Positioning maps may be used if welding marking and non-destructive testing marking cannot be marked near the weld.
