1 Scope
This standard specifies the methods to test burning behaviour of textiles by way of surface ignition along 45° direction as well as the classification of burning behaviour.
This standard is applicable to various textiles and their products.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Raised surface
The fluffy textile surface, such as teasing surface, napping surface, tufting surface, flocking surface, cutting surface or similar surface.
3.2
Flame spread rate; rate of flame spread
The distance by which the flame front expands under specified test conditions.
3.3
Burning time
The time from ignition initiation to breakage of marker line, determined by time meter and expressed by second (s).
