Laden mass calculating method for bus
1 Scope
This document specifies the main parameter requirements of laden mass for bus, as well as the calculating methods for largest number of personnel quota for design, the laden luggage mass for bus and the maximum laden mass for bus design.
This document is applicable to calculating the laden mass for vehicles in Categories M2 and M3 and may serve as a reference for other vehicles.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 3730.1, GB/T 3730.2 and GB/T 15089 and the following apply.

Note: It does not include the space occupied by any fixed appliances except passenger seats (e.g., barriers, coin boxes, water dispensers, freezers, kitchens, bars, toilets, driving areas, conductor working areas and stairs of Class A, Class I and Class II buses, etc.).

4 Method for calculating surface area available
4.1 Calculation of surface area available for passenger
The surface area available for passenger shall be calculated by subtracting the following items from the total horizontal projection area of the bus (to avoid repeated calculation).
a) Driving area: the horizontal projection area of the space used by the driver alone, including the horizontal projection area of the space occupied by the driver's seat, steering wheel, driving control, instruments and other equipment necessary for driving the vehicle, and the activity space necessary for the driver to complete the driving work outside the above area.
Note: For buses equipped with driving area isolation devices, the driving area refers to the area occupied by driving area isolation devices and internal area.
