1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated to guarantee basic housing conditions and service quality, improve design level of town residential buildings and ensure residential building design to meet the requirements of safety, hygiene, applicability and economy.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of newly-built, expanded and reconstructed town residential buildings throughout the country.
1.0.3 The residential building design must comply with the relevant national policies, laws and regulations and the relevant requirements of safety, hygiene, environment protection, optimal land utilization, energy and resource conservation etc.
1.0.4 The residential building design shall not only comply with this code but also comply with those in the current relevant ones of the nation.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Residential building
The buildings used for the inhabitation of the family
2.0.2 Dwelling unit
The basic residential building units composed of habitable space, kitchen and bathroom.
2.0.3 Habitable space
The general terms of bed room and living room
2.0.4 Bed room
The space used for the slumber and rest of the resident
2.0.5 Living room
The space used for the activities of the resident such as receiving a visitor, entertainment, uniting, etc.
2.0.6 Kitchen
The space used for the cooking of the resident
2.0.7 Bathroom
The space used for the activities of the resident such as defecating, scouring bath, washing one's hands and face etc.
2.0.8 Usable area
The practical applicable area excluding the area of wall, pillars etc.
2.0.9 Storey height
The vertical distance between the adjacent upper and lower two floors or between the first floor and the ground
2.0.10 Interior net storey height
The vertical distance between the floor or ground and the bottom surface of the upper floor or the hung ceiling
2.0.11 Balcony
The space attached to the external wall of the building, equipped with handrail or breast board and used for the activities of the resident
2.0.12 Terrace
The accessible roof used for outdoor activities of the resident or the part of the bottom storey ground stretching out the room
2.0.13 Passage
The horizontal channel used in the residential building
2.0.14 Cabinet
The stand storage space composed of the interior and wall of the buildings
2.0.15 Bay-window
The window protruding the external wall face of the buildings
2.0.16 Duplex apartment
The residential building equipped with interior stairs and whose space within the dwelling unit is across two storeys
2.0.17 Natural storeys
The storeys layered according to the structure of the floor slab and floor board
2.0.18 Middle-floor
The storey among the bottom storey, inlet storey and the inlet storey of the highest household
2.0.19 Open floor
The open space storey with structural support and without external protection structure
2.0.20 Gallery
The horizontal channel used outside the residential building
2.0.21 Inter-unit gallery
The horizontal channel connecting the storey and elevator hoistway of two abutting residential building units
2.0.22 Residential building unit
The building parts composed by multiple residential buildings, where the householder can be evacuated through the common stairs and the emergency exits.
2.0.23 Basement
The room floor is more than 1/2 of the net height of room lower than the outdoor ground level and it is called basement.
2.0.24 Semi-basement
The room floor is more than 1/3 net height of the room but not exceeding 1/2 of that and it is called basement.
2.0.25 Accessory assembly occupancy building
The common rooms attached to the main building of the residential building, including the room for property management, the room for equipment meeting the noise standard, small and medium commercial room and the room for the restaurant without lampblack, etc.
2.0.26 Mechanical floor
The space storey for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water supply and drainage and the electric equipment by the pipeline construction staff
