The minimum allowable values of the energy, water consumption and grades for dishwashers
1 Scope
This standard specifies the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and water efficiency as well as energy efficiency grade, water efficiency grade and test methods for energy efficiency and water efficiency for household or similar electrical dishwashers (hereinafter referred to as dishwashers).
It is applicable to dishwashers supplied with hot and/or cold water.
It is not applicable to commercial or similar dishwashers.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 20290-2016 and QB/T 1520-2013 as well as the following apply.
3.1 washing cycle
a whole process of completing a common (standard) washing procedure according to the functions (such as washing, rinsing and drying) of the tested dishwasher
3.2 energy consumption per washing cycle
all electric energies consumed by a dishwasher to complete a washing cycle under specified working condition, including the energy consumed for heating washing water
3.3 water consumption per washing cycle
water used by a dishwasher to complete a washing cycle under specified working condition
3.4 the minimum allowable value of the energy consumption for dishwashers
minimum allowable energy efficiency index for a dishwasher to complete a washing cycle under specified working condition
3.5 the minimum allowable value of the water consumption for dishwashers
minimum allowable water efficiency index for a dishwasher to complete a washing cycle under specified working condition
4 Energy efficiency grade and water efficiency grade
4.1 Energy efficiency grade
The energy efficiency of dishwasher is classified into 5 grades, among which Grade 1 represents the highest energy efficiency. The energy efficiency of dishwasher is graded according to the actually measured energy efficiency index, water efficiency index, drying index and cleaning index of dishwasher, which of each grade shall meet those specified in Table 1.
Table 1 Requirements for energy efficiency grade index of dishwasher
Grade Energy efficiency index EEI Water efficiency index WEI Drying index PD Cleaning index Pc
1 ≤50 ≤45 ≥1.08 ≥1.12
2 ≤56 ≤52 ≥1.08
3 ≤63 ≤62 ≥0.97
4 ≤71 ≤68 ≥0.97
5 ≤80 ≤75 ≥0.86
4.2 Water efficiency grade
The water efficiency grade of dishwasher is classified into 5 grades, among which Grade 1 represents the highest water efficiency. The water efficiency of dishwasher is graded according to the actually measured water efficiency index, drying index, energy efficiency index and cleaning index of dishwasher, which of each grade shall meet those specified in Table 1.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Minimum allowable values of the energy efficiency and water efficiency
The energy efficiency index, water efficiency index, drying index and cleaning index of dishwasher shall meet those of Grade 5 energy efficiency given in Table 1.
5.2 Allowable deviation from indicated value
Under the test condition specified in Chapter 6, the deviation between the actually measured values of energy consumption per washing cycle, water consumption per washing cycle, cleaning index, drying index of dishwasher and their indicated values specified by enterprise shall not be greater than the deviation as shown in Table 2.
Table 2 Allowable deviation from indicated value
Item Deviation
Energy consumption per washing cycle +10%
Water consumption per washing cycle +10%
Cleaning index -10%
Drying index -19%
6 Test methods
6.1 Test condition and test equipment
The test shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant requirements of GB/T 20290-2016 with detergent B at test ambient temperature of (23±2) ℃ and relative humidity of (55±5)%. The test water hardness is (2.5±0.5) mmol/L.
Note: For the product within certain water hardness application zone, the test shall be carried out according to the upper limit value of water hardness specified by the manufacturer.
6.2 Test method and calculation of energy efficiency index, water efficiency index, cleaning index and drying index
6.2.1 Standard contaminants and ways to contaminate tableware
