This standard replaces the determination of decolorization test in "Method for Analysis of Hygienic Standard of Products of Polyethylene, Polystyrene and Polypropyrene for Food Packaging" (GB/T 5009.60-2003), "Method for Analysis of Hygienic Standard of Products of Tripolycyanamide for Food Packaging" (GB/T 5009.61-2003), "Method for Analysis of Hygienic Standard of Product of Polyvinyl Chloride for Food Packaging" (GB/T 5009.67-2003) and "Method for Analysis of Hygienic Standard of Papers for Food Packaging" (GB/T 5009.78-2003).
There have been some significant changes in this standard over GB/T 5009.60-2003, GB/T 5009.61-2003, GB/T 5009.67-2003 and GB/T 5009.78-2003:
- The standard name is changed to "食品安全国家标准 食品接触材料及制品 脱色试验 (National Food Safety Standard - Food Contact Materials and Articles - Decolorization Test)";
- The scope of the standard is modified.
National Food Safety Standard
Food Contact Materials and Articles
Decolorization Test
食品安全国家标准
食品接触材料及制品 脱色试验
1 Scope
This standard specifies the decolorization test method for food contact materials and articles.
This standard is applicable to the decolorization test of food contact materials and articles.
2 Theory
Wipe the specimen with solvent, soak it with soak solution, and observe its color changes.
3 Reagents and Materials
Unless otherwise specified, all reactants adopted for this method are analytically pure and water is Grade 2 water as specified in GB/T 6682.
3.1 Reactants
3.1.1 Absolute ethyl alcohol (C2H6O).
3.1.2 Ethanol solution (65+35): pipet 65mL of absolute ethyl alcohol, add 35mL of water and mix the solution well.
3.1.3 Vegetable oil: colorless or light-colored vegetable oil.
3.1.4 Soak solution: operate according to the soak solution preparation specified in GB/T 5009.156.
3.2 Material
Degreasing cotton.
4 Analytical Procedures
4.1 Sampling method
Operate according to GB/T 5009.156.
4.2 Specimen washing
Operate according to GB/T 5009.156.
4.3 Selection of soak solution and soaking conditions of the specimen
Operate according to corresponding product standard.
4.4 Pretreatment method for specimen soaking test
Operate according to the pretreatment method for specimen soaking test specified in GB/T 5009.156.
4.5 Determination of specimen
4.5.1 Take one specimen and forcibly wipe it in a small area (about 4cm×2cm) contacting with food for 100 times back and forth with degreasing cotton soaked with vegetable oil.
4.5.2 Take another specimen and forcibly wipe it in a small area (about 4cm×2cm) contacting with food for 100 times back and forth with degreasing cotton soaked with absolute ethyl alcohol or ethanol solution (65+35).
4.5.3 Observe the color of soak solution.
