1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods of front underrun protection for commercial vehicle.
This standard is applicable to N2 and N3 vehicles.
This standard is not applicable to:
- G vehicles specified in GB/T 15089;
- The vehicles which are designed and manufactured for special purposes and can't install front underrun protection in the structure.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions and those established in GB/T 15089 are applicable to this standard.
3.1
Front underrun protection
It refers to special front underrun protection devices or the body, car frame components or other components of the vehicles which can be possessed of front underrun protection function by relying upon their own appearances and characteristics.
3.2
Front underrun protection devices
The devices which are generally composed of transverse members and are installed or connected to the car frame or other structural members.
