3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
guided type fall arrester
component that is attached to an anchor line and is capable of sliding along the anchor line with the movement of the user, with the braking action triggered by falling action
3.2
rigid anchor line
rigid component for guided type fall arrester attachment and sliding that is fixed to a ladder or other structure at regular intervals using devices such as metal brackets
Note: The guided type fall arrester slides on the rigid anchor line and can be locked onto the rigid anchor line in the event of a fall.
3.3
guided type fall arrester including a rigid anchor line
component composed of a guided type fall arrester (3.1) and a rigid anchor line (3.2) that is part of a fall protection system
Note: The guided type fall arrester and rigid anchor line are tested, verified, and used as a single unit. The installation and structure diagrams are shown in Annex A.
3.4
deflector
component that connects the rigid anchor line (3.2) and can change the direction of movement of the guided type fall arrester (3.1)
3.5
energy dissipating element
component used to absorb impact energy in the guided type fall arrester (3.1) including a rigid anchor line (3.2)
3.6
connecting element
component with a normally closed valve used to connect and separate the components of fall system

4 Technical requirements
4.1 Design and structure
4.1.1 The maximum rated load shall not be less than 100kg.
4.1.2 The rigid anchor lines shall be capable of being fixed to ladders, towers, or other structures with brackets and other devices at regular intervals in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.
4.1.3 The components shall be free of burrs and sharp edges.
4.1.4 The rigid anchor lines shall be fitted with impeding devices at both ends to prevent the guided type fall arrester from slipping out accidentally.
4.1.5 The components in series between the connecting element and the guided type fall arrester shall be non-removable from the guided type fall arrester.
4.1.6 The non-metallic energy dissipating elements shall be sheathed to prevent wear.
