This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces FZ/T 73012-2008 Brassiere; the following technical changes have been made with respect to FZ/T 73012-2008 (the previous edition):
——Description for application scope is adjusted (see Chapter 1; Chapter 1 in 2008 edition);
——Normative references are adjusted (see Chapter 2; Chapter 2 in 2008 edition);
——Schematic diagram for the specification measuring positions of brassiere is modified (see 4.2.1; 4.2.1 in 2008 edition);
——Index requirements for formaldehyde content, pH value, peculiar smell and decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes are modified (see 5.3.1; 5.3 in 2008 edition);
——The requirement "the assessment objects of formaldehyde content, pH value and peculiar smell include filler of brassiere cup, but latex, organic silica gel and mineral oil shall not be assessed" is added (see 5.3.2);
——The requirements for fiber content test position are added (see 5.3.3);
——The defect category of "incomplete, unclear and incorrect indication" in surface defect requirements is deleted (see 5.4.3; 5.4.3 in 2008 edition);
——The requirements for delivery inspection and type inspection are deleted (7.2 in 2008 edition);
——The requirements for re-inspection are modified (see 7.4; 8.3 in 2008 edition);
——Specific requirements for packaging, transportation and storage are added (see 8.3 and 8.4);
——Requirements for names of brassiere parts are added (see Annex A).
This standard was proposed by China National Textile and Apparel Council.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Technical Subcommittee on Knitwear of the National Technical Committee on Textiles of the Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 209/SC 6).
The previous editions of the standard replaced by this standard are as follows:
——FZ/T 73012-1998, FZ/T 73012-2004 and FZ/T 73012-2008.
Brassiere
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, type and specification, requirements, test, judgment rules, instruction, packaging, transportation and storage of brassiere.
This standard is applicable to the quality appraisal of brassiere mainly made of wrap-weft knitted fabric.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
bust girth
the maximum size measured by a circle horizontally through the most plump point of breast in case people wears fitted brassiere which is single-layer, packless and without support to make the breast in natural state
3.2
underbust girth
the size measured by a circle horizontally at the breast root
3.3
brassiere cup
the part of brassiere covering breast
3.4
under border
The part of brassiere covering underbust girth position of human body
3.5
lateral wing
the part of brassiere covering from the armpit aside the breast to the back
4 Type and Specification
4.1 Type
4.1.1 The type of brassiere is expressed with the brassiere cup code and the bust girth, for example, A75 represents brassiere with brassiere cup of Type A and underbust girth of 75cm.
4.1.2 Brassiere cup code represents the difference between bust girth and underbust girth fitted with human body, see Table 1.
Table 1 Brassiere Cup Codes
In mm
Brassiere cup code AA A B C D E F G
Difference between bust girth and underbust girth 7.5 10.0 12.5 15.0 17.5 20.0 22.5 25.0
4.13 75cm is selected as reference number for underbust girth, and different sizes are divided through increasing or decreasing successively by 5cm.
4.2 Specification
4.2.1 See Annex A for names of brassiere parts, and see Table 2 and Figure 1 for the specification measuring positions and requirements (the pattern in Figure 1 is for illustration only).
Table 2 Specification Measuring Positions and Requirements
Specification Measurement method
Under border length a Spread brassiere naturally and measure along lower edge of brassiere (measure minimum size for adjustable type)
Shoulder strap length b Measure the total length of shoulder strap (measure the minimum size for adjustable type)
Figure 1 Schematic Diagram for Specification Measuring Positions of Brassiere
4.2.2 Left side of product shall prevail for the measurement of specification and size.
5 Requirements
5.1 Requirements consist of inherent quality and appearance quality. The inherent quality covers indexes such as fiber content, formaldehyde content, pH value, peculiar smell, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, color fastness to water, color fastness to soaping, color fastness to rubbing and color fastness to perspiration, while the appearance quality covers indexes such as specification and size deviations, size difference in symmetrical positions and surface defect.
5.2 Grading requirements
5.2.1 Brassieres are graded into high-grade product, first-grade product and qualified product.
5.2.2 The inherent quality is graded by batches while the appearance quality is graded by pieces, according to combination of which, the minimum grade shall prevail.
5.2.3 For all inherent quality indexes, the lowest test result shall be regarded as the grading criterion for this batch of products.
5.2.4 Where appearance defects with different quality grades are found on the same product, the product shall be graded according to the lowest quality grade.
