According to the requirements of Document [2010] No.533 of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Notice on the development plan of the second batch of provincial standards for engineering construction of Tianjin Municipal Construction System in 2010, Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau Fire Department has revised DB29-134-2005 Code for construction and acceptance of fire resistive coating for steel structure.
The main contents of this revision include: readjusting the original clauses, and expanding the revised specifications from the original three clauses to five clauses. For the convenience of practical operation, the contents of individual items and sub-items in Code for construction and acceptance of fire resistive coating for steel structure are refined again.
This code consists of five clauses, including: general provisions, terminology, fire resistive coating for steel structure and coating thickness, construction requirements of fire resistive coating for steel structure and final acceptance of fire resistive coating for steel structure.

1 General provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated to implement the relevant national fire protection codes and technical standards for building design, standardize the construction and acceptance of fire resistive coatings for steel structures, reduce fire hazards and maintain fire safety.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the construction and acceptance of fire resistive coatings for steel structures of buildings and structures.
1.0.3 In addition to this code, the construction and acceptance of fire resistive coating for steel structure shall also comply with the current relevant national standards.
2 Terminology
2.0.1 coating for steel structure
coating materials applied to the surface of steel structure of buildings and structures to form a coating material for fireproof or anti-corrosion layer of steel structure
2.0.2 fire resistive coating for steel structure
coating applied to the surface of steel structure of buildings and structures, which can form a fire-resistant and heat-insulating protective layer to improve the fire resistance of steel structure

3 Fire resistive coating for steel structure and coating thickness
3.1 Species of fire resistive coating for steel structure
3.1.1 According to the application place, fire resistive coating for steel structure can be classified into:
1 Fire resistive coating for indoor steel structure: used for the surface of steel structure of indoors or concealed work of buildings;
2 Fire resistive coating for outdoor steel structure: used for the surface of steel structures in outdoor or open-air engineering of buildings.
3.1.2 According to the application thickness, fire resistive coating for steel structure can be classified into:
1 Extra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure: the coating thickness is less than or equal to 3mm;
2 Thin fire resistive coating for steel structure: the coating thickness is greater than 3mm and less than or equal to 7 mm;
3 Thick fire resistive coating for steel structure: the coating thickness is greater than 7mm and less than or equal to 45mm.
3.2 Selection of fire resistive coating for steel structure
3.2.1 Fire resistive coating for indoor steel structure shall be selected for the surface of steel structure used for indoor or concealed work of buildings, and fire resistive coating for outdoor steel structure shall be selected for the surface of steel structure used for outdoor or open-air engineering of buildings.
3.2.2 When the fire endurance design requirement of steel structure is not more than 2.0h, extra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure or thin fire resistive coating for steel structure shall be selected. When the fire endurance design requirement of steel structure is 1.0 h ~ 2.5 h, thin fire resistive coating for steel structure should be selected, and when the fire endurance design requirement of steel structure is 1.5 h ~ 3.0 h, thick fire resistive coating for steel structure should be selected.
3.3 Thickness of fire resistive coating for steel structure
3.3.1 The coating thickness of various fire resistive coating for steel structure corresponding to different fire endurance limits shall be determined on the basis of relevant inspection reports.
3.3.2 If the coating thickness of fire resistive coating is specified in the design documents and is greater than the coating thickness in the corresponding inspection report, the coating thickness shall be determined according to the value specified in the design documents.
4 Construction requirements of fire resistive coating for steel structure
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 Fire resistive coating for steel structure shall be carried out by construction units or production units with corresponding qualifications.
4.1.2 For all kinds of fire resistive coating products for steel structures entering the construction site, the package shall be pasted with the identity information sign of fire-fighting products (identity information sign A), and shall be accompanied with technical data such as type approval certificate, type inspection report, product certificate, product instructions and construction technology provided by the manufacturer. The acceptance shall be witnessed by the project supervisor on site, and the relevant information shall be recorded in Approach acceptance record of fire-resistive coating (Annex B).
4.1.3 Before coating construction, the construction unit shall develop a concrete and feasible construction scheme according to the structural form of the engineering, site conditions and the construction technology of the coating manufacturer, and submit it to the construction supervision for approval before construction according to the construction scheme.
4.1.4 Before construction, the steel structure shall be derusted and rustproof according to the relevant provisions of 4.2.
4.1.5 Dust, oil stains, etc. on the surface of the steel structure shall be removed, and the seam at the joint shall be filled with fire resistive coating or other fire resistive materials before construction.
4.1.6 Fire resistive coating for steel structure engineering may be divided into one or several inspection batches according to the principle of division of steel structure production or steel structure installation engineering inspection batches. Fire resistive coating for steel structure shall be carried out after the construction quality of the installation inspection batches and ordinary the coating inspection batches of steel structure has passed the acceptance.
4.1.7 The ambient temperature and relative humidity during the application of fire resistive coating of steel structure shall meet the requirements of the coating product instructions. Unless otherwise specified, the ambient temperature should be kept above 5°C during the construction of water-based coatings and before the coating is dried and solidified, and as for the solvent-based coatings, the ambient temperature should be kept at -5°C to 38°C. The relative humidity should not be greater than 90% and the air shall be ventilated. When the air temperature is too low, the wind speed is more than 5m/s, it is rainy or there is condensation on the surface of the component, no operation is allowed.
4.1.8 Fire resistive coating should be applied before interior decoration and without being damaged by subsequent engineering. Coating during curing period shall be protected from rain, water flushing, dirty article pollution and bumping.
4.1.9 When measuring the coating thickness of components with a thickness gauge, the measuring points shall be uniformly arranged. For linear members such as steel beams and columns, the number of points measured per linear meter shall not be less than two; the number of measuring points per square meter for face-like members such as steel plates shall not be less than five. The average thickness of coating shall meet the thickness requirements specified in the construction unit design. The thickness of single-point coating shall not be less than 85% of the thickness specified in the construction unit design, and the length of continuous area of coating with the thickness of single-point coating greater than 85% of the thickness specified in the construction unit design but not up to the thickness specified in the construction unit design shall not exceed 1m.
4.1.10 The whole process must be recorded in detail during construction, and necessary photos or video records shall be kept at different time nodes for concealed work.
