1 Scope
This part specifies the basic requirements of classification and naming, service environment, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and transportation of long rod composite insulators (hereinafter referred to as long rod suspension insulators and long rod post insulators respectively) for overhead contact system of power frequency single-phase AC 25kV electrified railways.
This part is applicable to tensile and anti-bending insulators for overhead contact system.

3 Classification and Naming
3.1 Classification of insulators
Insulators are classified into tensile type used for suspension and tension resistance as well as anti-bending type used for supporting cantilever according to application mode.
Insulators are classified into ordinary type, reinforced insulation type and highly reinforced insulation type according to applicable pollution resistance degree.
Insulators are classified into single insulation structure type and double insulation structure type according to insulating mode.
