1 Scope
This standard specifies the terminologies and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and explanation, as well as packaging, transportation and storage of household and similar hair care appliances (hereinafter referred to as "appliances").
This standard is applicable to handheld hair driers with electric heating elements at a rated input power of below 2.2kW, combined marcel wavers with non-electrical working heads based on hair drier and electric curling appliance (or straightener) by electric heating mostly. This standard is not applicable to hair driers for children and special purposes.
