Packaging — Basic Tests for Transport Packages — Part 7: Sinusoidal Vibration Test Method at Constant Frequency
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 4857 specifies the main performance requirements, test procedures and information of test report for test apparatus used to carry out vibration tests on transport packages or unit loads using sinusoidal vibration at constant frequency.
This part is applicable to assess the performance of transport packages and unit loads in terms of the strength or the protection that they offer to their contents when subjected to sinusoidal vibration at constant frequency. It may be performed either as a single test or as part of a sequence of tests.

3 Principle
The test specimen is placed on a vibration table and subjected to a vibration using an approximately sinusoidal excitation at a fixed low frequency. The atmospheric conditions, the duration of the test, the peak acceleration, the attitude of the test specimen and any method of restraint are predetermined.
When required, a load may be superimposed on the test specimen to simulate conditions of sinusoidal vibration at the bottom of a stack.
