Electric rice cooker
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and model designation, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of electric rice cooker.
This standard is applicable to household and similar electric rice cooker with a rated voltage of not greater than 250V.
This standard does not involve the safety requirements related to food contact materials.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 4706.1 and GB 4706.19 as well as the following apply.

electric rice cooker
appliance for cooking rice, which has a detachable container (placed inside the appliance during cooking)
Note 1: Electric rice cooker may have heat preservation function.
Note 2: Electric rice cooker may also cook other foods in addition to rice.
3.2
induction heating electric rice cooker
electric rice cooker which heats the container by eddy current
Note: Eddy current is generated through induction on the container or lid by the coil electromagnetic field, or generated by the container and lid through induction.
3.3
small armor plate
Q235A (A3) steel plate with a thickness of 2.0mm and a diameter of 60mm
3.4
coil plate
component formed by fixing a metal wire winding on a support, which can generate electromagnetic field

pressure rice cooker
electric rice cooker with a rated cooking pressure of 4~140kPa
Note 1: For appliances with a nominal rated cooking pressure range, the upper limit of rated cooking pressure shall not exceed 140kPa.
Note 2: This document is applicable to appliances named as pressure rice cooker, air pressure cooker, etc., which has a rated cooking pressure within 4~140kPa.

rated cooking pressure
maximum pressure produced in the cooking container during normal operation, as specified by the manufacturer

rated cooking pressure range
maximum pressure range in the cooking container that can be adjusted during normal operation, as specified by the manufacturer
3.8
pressure-controlled repeatability
capability of the appliance to control the set pressure in cooking container
3.9
nonmetal cooking container
cooking container used in appliance, which is made of clay as the main material and other natural mineral materials through crushing, mixing, forming and calcining
4 Classification and model designation
4.1 Classification
The appliances are classified into:
a) heating element heating type and induction heating type according to the heating mode;
b) normal pressure type and pressure type according to the operating pressure;
c) metal type and nonmetal type according to the material of cooking container.
4.2 Model designation
See Annex A for model designation of appliances.
5 Requirements
5.1 Normal operation environment
Appliances shall be able to operate normally under the following conditions:
——in indoor or similar indoor environment, where the surrounding air shall be free of flammable and corrosive gases and conductive dust;
——ambient temperature: -10~40℃; relative air humidity: not greater than 95%;
——power supply: rated voltage (1±10%) and rated frequency ±1Hz.
5.2 Electrical safety
Appliances shall meet the applicable requirements of GB 4706.1 and GB 4706.19.
