General specification for vanadium flow battery
1 Scope
This standard specifies the general information relating to the technical requirements of the vanadium flow battery system (hereafter referred as 'battery'), testing methods, inspection rules, signs, in¬structions, transportation and storage.
This standard is applicable to all kinds of vanadium flow battery system.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 29840 and the following apply.
3.1
capacity recovery ability
refreshing ability of the battery energy capacity up to 80% or above of the rated energy capacity by a special operation when the energy capacity decays to lower than 80% of the rated energy capacity
Note: recovering operation without the replacing or adding of new electrolyte.
3.2
unit battery system
an independent system that is assembled from one or more modules, and is connected with a convertor to function the charging or discharging operations
