GB/T 24168-2023 Determination of the content of phthalate in textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries
WARNING——Persons using this document shall be familiar with normal laboratory practice. This document does not purport to address all of the safety problems. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to ensure compliance with any national regulatory conditions.
1 Scope
This document specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for the determination of the content of 24 kinds of phthalates in textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries.
This document is applicable to the determination of the content of phthalate in textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries.
Note: See Annex A for the names of 24 kinds of phthalates.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
No terms and definitions are listed in this document.
4 Principle
Specimens of textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries are extracted by n-hexane-acetone mixed solvent or other suitable solvents, determined by gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer, qualitatively determined by the retention time and characteristic ions and quantitatively determined by external standard method based on quantitative ion peak area.
5 Determination method
5.1 General requirements
Unless otherwise specified, only recognized analytical reagent and Grade 3 water (specified in GB/T 6682-2008) shall be used. Judgment of the inspection result shall be carried out according to the rounding-off value comparison method specified in 4.3.3 of GB/T 8170-2008.
5.2 Reagents and materials
5.2.1 Phthalate standard substances: in accordance with Annex A, having a content of greater than or equal to 98% (mass fraction).
5.2.2 n-hexane: chromatographic grade.
5.2.3 Acetone: chromatographic grade.
5.2.4 n-hexane-acetone mixed solvent: with the volume ratio of n-hexane to acetone as 1:1.
5.3 Apparatus
5.3.1 Gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS): equipped with electron impact (EI) ionization source.
