This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 1914-2007 Chemical analytical filter paper.
The following technical deviations have been made with respect to the GB/T 1914-2007 (the previous edition):
——The normative references are modified;
——The breaking length of qualitative filter paper is changed into tensile strength;
——Three technical indexes, namely dry bursting resistance, alkali resistance and D65 fluorescence brightness, are added;
——Brightness is changed to D65 brightness, and technical requirements for filtration performance are changed to that it shall be qualified;
——The determination methods of filtration time and wet bursting resistance are improved.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. The issuing body of this document shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This standard was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Paper Industry of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 141).
The previous editions of the standards replaced by this standard are as:
——GB/T 1914-1980, GB/T 1914-1993, GB/T 1914-2007.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
filtration performance
ability of filter paper to separate suspension into supernatant liquid and solid precipitation
4 Product classification
4.1 Chemical analysis filter paper is divided by their uses into qualitative filter paper and quantitative filter paper. Qualitative filter paper can be divided into three types according to different filtration rate: 101 (fast qualitative filter paper), 102 (intermediate qualitative filter paper) and 103 (slow qualitative filter paper); quantitative filter paper is also divided into three types according to the different filtration rate: 201 (fast quantitative filter paper), 202 (intermediate quantitative filter paper) and 203 (slow quantitative filter paper).
4.2 The qualitative filter paper and quantitative filter paper are classified into superior product, first-grade product and acceptable product based on the product quality.
5 Requirements
5.1 The technical indexes of qualitative filter paper shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.

For the former, the size is generally 600 mm × 600 mm and 300 mm × 300 mm, the size deviation shall not exceed ±3 mm and the skewness shall not exceed 3 mm; for the latter, the diameter is generally 55 mm, 70 mm, 90 mm, 110 mm, 125 mm, 150 mm, 180 mm, 230 mm and 270 mm, and the diameter deviation shall not exceed ±1 mm. The round quantitative filter paper is common used. Its diameter is 55 mm, 70 mm, 90 mm, 110 mm, 125 mm, 150 mm, 180 mm, 230 mm and 270 mm, and diameter deviation shall not exceed ±1 mm. It is also allowed to produce qualitative and quantitative filter paper of other specifications and sizes according to the order contract.
5.4 The side cut of the paper shall be regular and clean and no burrs or cracks, etc. are found on its appearance.
5.5 The paper shall be uniform in fiber texture, and clean on its surface without visible metal impurities, sand grains, coal dust and other hard blocks. It is also not allowable to have folds, streaks, transparent points, pinholes, etc., or obvious hair slip.
