This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 13380-2007 A.C. electric fans and regulators. The following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 13380-2007:
——The terms, nine in total, in Annex C of GB/T 13380-2007 are incorporated into Clause 3 (see Clause 3);
——According to the test method and verification data of air volume, the air volumes of table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans and louver fans of 300mm and below are properly adjusted. For those of 230mm and below, the air volumes shall be assessed according to the non-preferred size that is marked by the manufacturer (see 5.2);
——The energy efficiency values of table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans and louver fans of 300mm and below are properly adjusted according to the verification data. For those of 230mm and below, the energy efficiency values shall be assessed according to the non-preferred size (see 5.3);
——The energy efficiency values of tower fans are properly adjusted according to the test methods and verification data (see 5.3);
——The noise limit is changed from 50 dB(A) to 63 dB(A) according to the development and change of product specifications of tower fans (see 5.5);
——For the air volume tests of table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, top fans and louver fans, the table fans, wall fans, floor fans, top fans and louver fans shall be tested in 4.5m long test chamber, while pedestal fans shall be tested in 6m long test chamber (400mm pedestal fans are allowed in 4.5m long test chamber for air volume tests), which are changed to electric fans (table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, top fans and louver fans) less than or equal to 400mm shall be tested in 4.5m long test chamber, while such electric fans of 400mm shall be tested in 6m long test chamber (see 6.7.1);
——The damp-heat test of organic coated parts is added. The test temperature: (40±2)°C; relative humidity: (93±3)% (see 6.13);
——For the measurement of air velocity for table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, top fans and louver fans, two anemometers in horizontal direction are changed to two anemometers in horizontal direction and two anemometers in vertical direction (4 anemometers in total) (to improve the uniformity of the average air velocity of the ring) (see 6.7.1.1);
——The air volume test method of tower fan is changed to the method in GB/T 1236 (see 6.7.3);
——For the end-of-manufacturing inspection items, "Leakage current and electrical strength test" is changed to "Electrical strength test", "Input power and current" is changed to "Input power measurement", and "Simplified method used in end-of-manufacturing inspection" is added (see Table 6 in 7.2.1);
——The item "Radiation, toxicity and similar hazards" is added to the type inspection, and Note 4 is added to Table 7 (see Table 7 of 7.3.2);
——Annex C "Test method for air performance of tower fans" is added.
This standard is redrafted by reference to but is not equivalent to IEC 60879:1986 Performance and construction of electric circulating fans and regulators and its corrigenda 1992.

A.C. electric fans and regulators
1 Scope
This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of A.C. electric fans and regulators.
This standard is applicable to table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans, top fans, louver fans, tower fans, decorated ceiling fans and their regulators which are driven by AC motors with single-phase rated voltages not more than 250V and other rated voltages not more than 480V.
This standard does not apply to electric fans used under other special conditions.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 4706.27 and the following apply.

impeller for air lead
lattice structure arranged at the front of louver fan blade, which can control the air supply direction by its rotation or set at a certain position

cone angle of the maximum airflow cone with the center of the fan blade as the vertex and the average air velocity on the bus not lower than the specified value

4 Product classification
4.1 Type
Types of A.C. electric fans:
a) A.C. electric fans are divided by type of driving motor in capacitive type and shaded pole type;
b) A.C. electric fans are divided by nature of power supply into single phase and three phase.
4.2 Specifications
The specifications of A.C. electric fans are classified by blade diameter, as shown in Table 1.

Specifications and dimensions are preferred (bracketed values are not preferred). The allowable error of blades with diameter less than 500mm (inclusive) is ±2%, the allowable error of blades with diameter greater than 500mm and less than 1,000 mm (including 1,000mm) is ±10mm, and the allowable error of blades with diameter greater than 1,000 mm is ±1%.
The specifications of the tower fan are classified according to the diameter and length of the impeller. For example, if the diameter and length of the impeller are 100mm and 400mm respectively, the specification is φ100 mm×400mm.
4.3 Rated parameters
4.3.1 Rated voltage: single-phase 220 V/three-phase 380 V.
4.3.2 Rated frequency: 50 Hz.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Service environment
5.1.1 Ambient air temperature does not exceed +40°C or the indicated ambient temperature (T).
5.1.2 Relative humidity of the ambient air is not more than 90% (at +25 °C);
5.1.3 Altitude above sea level is not higher than 1,000m.
5.2 Air delivery
When the table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans and louver fans are operating at rated voltage, rated frequency and maximum rotation speed, their air delivery shall meet the values specified in Table 2 and is allowed to have an allowable error of -10% (the upper limit of allowable error is not specified).
When the top fans, tower fans and decorated ceiling fans are operating at rated voltage, rated frequency and maximum rotation speed, their air delivery is allowed to have an allowable error of -10% from the nominal air delivery specified by the manufacturer (the upper limit of allowable error is not specified).
Note: The nominal air volume of top fan, tower fan and decorated ceiling fan shall be provided in relevant data by the manufacturer.

5.3 Energy efficiency value
The energy efficiency value of electric fans is the measured air delivery (m3/min) divided by the measured input power (W) of motor when the electric fans are operating at rated voltage, rated frequency and maximum rotation speed. The energy efficiency values of table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans and louver fans shall not be less than those specified in Table 3.

The energy efficiency value of non-preferred size shall be provided in relevant data by the producer (manufacturer), and the measured energy efficiency value shall not be less than its nominal value.
The energy efficiency value of tower fan shall not be less than 0.12 m3/(min·W).
The energy efficiency values of top fans and decorated ceiling fans shall not be less than the nominal energy efficiency value specified by the producers (manufacturers).
Note: The nominal energy efficiency values of top fans and decorated ceiling fans shall be provided by the producer (manufacturer) in relevant data.
5.4 Speed regulation
5.4.1 Speed regulation ratio
For the speed regulation ratio of an electric fan, it is the ratio of the speed of its lowest speed gear to the speed of its highest speed gear when the fan is operating at rated voltage and rated frequency, as shown in Equation (1):

The speed regulation ratio of table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans and louver fans shall not be greater than those specified in Table 4.

The speed regulation ratio of tower fan and top fan shall not be greater than 70%.
The speed regulation ratio of decorated ceiling fans shall not be greater than 50%.
5.4.2 Regulators
The electric fans with regulators shall meet the following requirements:
a) Each speed regulating gear shall enable the electric fan to run continuously and reliably;
b) The speed difference between two adjacent speed gears shall be as close as possible;
c) Speed control switches shall meet the requirements of type inspection of electric fans;
d) Regulators shall run flexibly, without the possibility of two operating gears being connected at the same time;
e) There is a power off gear;
f) Lighting lamps with power above 2W shall be equipped with independent power switches.
5.5 Noise
The noise of an electric fan is calculated according to A-weighted sound power level, and measured according to the test method specified in 6.6; the values of table fans, wall fans, floor fans, pedestal fans, ceiling fans, louver fans, top fans and decorated ceiling fans shall not be greater than those specified in Table 5.
For the tower fans operating at rated voltage, rated frequency and maximum speed gear, with oscillating airflow disabled, its A-weighted noise power level shall not be greater than 63 dB(A).
