3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 4785 and the following apply.
3.1
road illumination device
unit or unit group used to illuminate the road and objects in the heading direction of motor vehicle and realize one or more functions
Note: The abbreviation of "device" in this document, including one or more functions of headlamp (passing beam and driving beam), front fog lamp and cornering lamp.
3.2
road illumination system
system consisting of left and right units or unit groups and a control gear, used to illuminate roads and objects in the direction of vehicle heading
Note: It is referred to as "system" in this document.
3.3
lighting unit
light emitting component of the system, which provides beams of one or more road-lighting function(s) provided by the system
Note: It consists of optical, mechanical and electrical components.
3.4
installation unit
non-detachable housing (lamp body) containing one or several lighting units
3.5
neutral status
in-service status of the system without any adaptive control signal input
3.6
basic passing beam
passing beam function in neutral status
3.7
beam type
different beam types provided by the passing beam function and the driving beam function of the same device or system
Example: Basic passing beam and adaptive passing beam.
3.8
adaptive function
function that the device or system can automatically provide functions of different characteristic beams under different use conditions
3.9
steady state of light intensity
steady state after the change of luminous intensity of the test point is less than 3% within any 15min or less than 1% within any 5min
Note: Light intensity in this document is referred to as "intensity" for short.
3.10
driver assistance projection function
projection function by adjusting the photometric to assist the driver in aided driving
Example: Road slip warning projection function, lane keeping assist signal projection function, rear-end collision warning signal projection function, etc.
4 Judgment of the same type
Devices that do not differ in the following main features are regarded as the same type:
——the manufacturer;
——the quantity, type, luminous principle and light source module structure of replaceable or non-replaceable light sources used;
——the quantity and structure of major optical elements (such as reflectors, lenses and light conductors);
——the materials of external lens and coating.
5 Overall requirements
5.1 Beam adjustment device
5.1.1 Passing beam, driving beam and front fog lamp devices shall have beam adjustment devices. When any function of passing beam, driving beam and front fog lamps are combined to produce a combined lamp, the adjustment device shall be able to adjust them separately; if they can't be adjusted independently due to the common adjusting mechanism or the integral reflector, it shall be ensured that the driving beam shall not be adjusted after the passing beam is adjusted.
5.1.2 If the adjustment in 5.1.1 can be realized by other means on the vehicle, the device may not be installed.
5.2 Beam switching device
Devices used to switch beams in devices or systems shall meet the following requirements:
a) the shape and position of the movable part(s) of the beam switching device cannot be changed by using common tools;
b) when switching between the passing beam and the driving beam using mechanical device, the switching shall be doable at any time, and the mechanical device will not stop in the middle or other uncertain positions.
5.3 Marking of device or system
5.3.1 The lamp body of the device or system shall be marked with the rated voltage. Devices or systems that are only applicable to 12V rated voltage systems or only to 24V rated voltage systems shall meet the requirements of voltage marking in Annex A.
5.3.2 For paired devices, marking indicating that they are installed on the left and right sides of the vehicle shall be provided on the lamp body on each side.
5.4 Marking of center of reference
The center of reference shall be marked for devices or systems, and the marking method shall conform to Annex A. If two driving beam headlamps are installed on each side of the vehicle, they shall be marked separately.
5.5 Requirements of driver assistance projection function
5.5.1 The applicant or manufacturer shall provide a list of driver assistance projection functions, which shall not make other road users uncomfortable, dazzle or distracted.
5.5.2 Only the following functions are allowed to use driver assistance projection functions:
