1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated to ensure the quality, safety, and environmental protection of pipeline crossing construction using the direct pipe installation method for oil and gas pipelines.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the crossing construction using the direct pipe installation method for onshore oil and gas pipelines.
1.0.3 In addition to complying with this code, the crossing construction using the direct pipe installation method for oil and gas pipelines shall also comply with the requirements of current relevant national standards and specifications.
2 Terms
2.0.1
direct pipe crossing
A crossing construction method where a boring machine and a pipe thruster are used to install a pipeline through an obstacle along a designed curve.
2.0.2
boring machine
Equipment installed at the front end of the pipeline, featuring functions such as excavation, muck removal, and steering.
2.0.3
pipe thruster
Equipment that clamps the pipeline using a gripping device and can move the pipeline forward or backward by means of a moving mechanism.
2.0.4
anchor
An anchoring facility used to secure the pipe thruster and provide reaction force for the pipe thruster.
2.0.5
pull back
The construction process of retracting the equipment and pipeline from the ground using the pipe thruster.
2.0.6
supply lines
Pipelines and cables connecting the boring machine to equipment and facilities such as the slurry system, lubrication system, power supply system, and control system.
3 Basic Requirements
3.0.1 The construction unit shall possess corresponding construction qualifications and resources such as personnel and equipment that meet the construction requirements.
3.0.2 The direct pipe installation construction shall adopt a slurry balance boring machine. The cutterhead structure of the boring machine shall be determined according to the engineering geological conditions. When constructing in rock strata, the boring machine shall have good rock-breaking performance. For crossing pipelines with a diameter greater than or equal to 1422mm, the boring machine should be equipped with the function for inspecting or replacing cutters.
3.0.3 The applicable conditions for direct pipe crossing may be implemented according to Table 3.0.3.
Table 3.0.3 Applicable Conditions for Direct Pipe Crossing
4 Construction Preparation
4.1 Technical Preparation
4.1.1 The construction unit shall conduct a site investigation based on the design documents, with the main content including:
1 Meteorological, topographical, and geological conditions;
2 The impact of existing structures (buildings), roads, water conservancy facilities, telecommunication lines, power lines, and other facilities on or near the construction site and within the crossing alignment on the construction;
3 Construction resources such as temporary water supply and electricity for construction.
4.1.2 The construction unit shall familiarize itself with the design documents, participate in drawing reviews and design disclosures, and shall complete the following tasks:
1 Understand the key points and difficulties of the project, and comprehend the crossing design scheme;
2 Re-evaluate the topographical, geological, and meteorological conditions for the crossing construction, as well as other factors that may constrain construction;
3 Jointly with the design unit, conduct on-site stake handover and re-survey the survey control points.
4.1.3 The construction unit should prepare the construction organization design in accordance with the current industry standard Code for Compilation of Construction Organization Design of Oil and Gas Transmission Pipeline Engineering SY/T 4115, and prepare a special construction scheme based on the actual project conditions.
4.2 Site Preparation
4.2.1 Relevant construction permit procedures shall be completed before site entry, and site layout shall be completed according to the construction organization design.
4.2.2 Construction access roads shall meet the transportation requirements for equipment and materials entering and leaving the site.
4.2.3 The construction site shall meet the following requirements:
1 The launch site should not be less than 40m x 30m; the site area may be increased depending on the crossing length, pipe diameter, and geological conditions.
2 The area for installing auxiliary equipment shall be determined based on factors such as crossing length, slurry recovery, and geological conditions; it should not be larger than 40m x 40m, and adjustments should be made according to actual site conditions if there are special requirements.
3 The area for the pipe prefabrication yard shall be determined based on the pipeline crossing length, pipe diameter, and prefabrication method; a linear layout should be adopted.
4 The bearing capacity of the construction site shall meet the traffic requirements of construction machinery and equipment. If it is insufficient, corresponding treatment measures shall be taken.
4.2.4 Before construction, surveying, setting-out, and positioning of the pipeline centerline, construction site boundaries, launch, and reception positions shall be carried out in accordance with relevant technical requirements.
4.2.5 Temporary water and electricity supply for construction shall be selected based on the availability of resources at the construction site:
1 Nearby water sources or existing water supply pipelines should be utilized;
