4 Classification
Anti-fingerprint coatings are classified based on the material of the substrate they are applied to:
——Type I: Anti-fingerprint coatings for transparent glass, ceramics, plastics, and other transparent materials; and those that can be used on both transparent glass, ceramics, plastics, and other transparent materials, as well as metals, opaque ceramics, opaque plastics, and other opaque materials;
——Type II: Anti-fingerprint coatings for metals, opaque ceramics, opaque plastics, and other opaque materials.
Both Type I and Type II products are further classified by resin type into:
——Class 1: Products using fluorinated resins as the main film-forming substance;
——Class 2: Products using non-fluorinated resins as the main film-forming substance.
