3 Requirements
3.1 Materials
3.1.1 Bearing rings and rolling elements developed and manufactured to this specification shall be made of Group A bearing steel, stainless steel or high-temperature bearing steel. Other materials may be used if specially required by the orderer.
3.1.2 Materials selected for bearing parts (including commercial parts) shall comply with the provisions of the product drawing and Annex A.
3.1.3 Upon receipt by the manufacturer's plant, materials shall be re-inspected in accordance with the relevant material standards and shall not be put into production until found conforming.
3.2 Product drawing
3.2.1 The product drawing shall specify requirements for material, geometric dimension tolerances, clearance, surface roughness, heat treatment and hardness, etc. It may also specify other special supplementary technical requirements for certain bearings.
3.2.2 After bearing qualification, any changes to the product drawing that affect operational performance or fitting dimensions shall be negotiated and agreed upon between the manufacturer and the orderer, and the consent of the orderer's representative shall be obtained; for general changes, the manufacturer shall notify the orderer's representative of the change results.
3.2.3 If required by the orderer, the manufacturer shall provide the product drawing to the orderer.
