Sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners)
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for raw materials, technical indicators, sanitary and sensory quality of sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners), and describes corresponding test methods, specifies the inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, defines the terms and definitions, and gives the product classification to facilitate specification of techniques.
This document applies to the production, inspection, and sale of sanitary absorbent pads and panty liners for women, which are composed of a top sheet, an absorbent core (containing fluff pulp, cotton fibers, or super-absorbent polymer), and a leak-proof back sheet, and are formed using specialized machinery.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
absorption speed
time required for the sample to absorb a certain amount of standard synthetic test solution
3.2
rewet
mass of test solution that returns to the surface layer after the sample has absorbed a specified amount of standard synthetic test solution, under certain pressure and time conditions
3.3
absorption ratio
multiple of the mass of standard synthetic test solution absorbed by the sample within a specified time compared to the sample’s own mass
4 Product classification
Sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) are classified into sanitary absorbent pads and panty liners based on product performance and intended use.
5 Requirements
5.1 Raw materials
5.1.1 The raw materials of sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) shall not include discarded or used materials, and their sanitary requirements shall comply with the relevant provisions on raw materials in GB 15979.
5.1.2 For the raw materials used for sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners): the fluff pulp shall meet the requirements of GB/T 21331, the super-absorbent polymer shall meet the requirements of GB/T 22875 the release paper shall meet the requirements of GB/T 27731, the absorption tissue paper shall meet the requirements of QB/T 4508, the air-laid shall meet the requirements of GB/T 2429, the topsheet hall meet the requirements of GB/T 30133, and the fragrance compound shall meet the requirements of GB/ 22731.
5.2 Technical indicators
5.2.1 Technical indicators for sanitary absorbent pads
The technical indicators for sanitary absorbent pads shall meet those specified in Table 1.
5.2.2 Technical indicators for panty liners
The technical indicators for panty liners shall meet those specified in Table 2.
5.3 Sanitary requirements
The sanitary requirements of sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) shall comply with GB 15979.
5.4 Sensory quality
5.4.1 The appearance of sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) shall be clean, free from contaminants, damage, abnormal odors, and foreign matters.
5.4.2 The release paper on sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) shall not fall off by itself, and can be torn off naturally and completely.
5.5 Requirements for use
5.5.1 The sealing of sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) shall be secure and shall not rupture during normal use.
5.5 The sanitary absorbent pads (panty liners) shall have no displacement during normal use, and shall not damage the underwear or leave obvious residue when it is removed from the underwear.
6 Test methods
6.1 Specimen treatment and test conditions
For the determination of sheet mass deviation, absorption speed, rewet amount, absorption ratio and adhesive peel strength, the specimens shall be conditioned under the standard atmospheric conditions specified in GB/T 10739 for at least 4 h, and the tests shall be conducted under the same conditions.
6.2 Full length deviation
Remove the release paper from the specimen, lay it flat on a level table surface. Measure Use the full length of the specimen (measured from the longest point of the specimen, as shown in Figure 1) with a ruler to an accuracy of 1 mm. For each specification, measure 6 specimens taken from at least two different sales packages, with at least two specimens taken from each package. Take the average value of 6 specimens, calculate the full length deviation according to Formula (1), and round the result to 0.1%.
(1)
where,
S1 - full length deviation, %;
Lavg - average of full length, mm;
L - nominal value of full length, mm.
Note: If the sales package is a single-piece package, test 6 packages.
