GB/T 45915-2025 Technical requirements for transport safety and intermodal transport of traction lithium batteries
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and grading, basic requirements, as well as the requirements for transport packaging, consignment, loading and unloading, temporary storage, intermodal transport and emergency response of traction lithium batteries.
This document is applicable to transport of traction lithium batteries. The transport of energy storage lithium batteries and their products (excluding containerized energy storage systems) may refer to this document. This document is not applicable to the transport of damaged and defective traction lithium batteries.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

cell
a single enclosed electrochemical device composed of a positive electrode and a negative electrode with a potential difference, and may include a protective device

battery
a combination of two or more individual batteries connected by circuits, equipped with the necessary devices for use
Note 1: The battery is equipped with the necessary devices for use, such as: casing, electrodes, marking or protective devices.
Note 2: Battery pack, battery module or integrated battery is regarded as battery.
Note 3: Cell and battery are collectively referred to as battery.

lithium battery
battery containing non-aqueous electrolyte and negative lithium or lithium-containing negative.
Note: Lithium battery includes lithium metal battery and lithium-ion battery.

traction lithium battery
lithium battery that provide energy for the traction systems of transport tools or devices and equipment such as electric vehicles, electric ships, electric aircraft, rail transit, electric bicycles, and construction machinery
3.5
state of charge
current remaining capacity status of battery, expressed in numerical terms, which is the ratio of capacity obtained under the charging and discharging conditions specified by the manufacturer to the rated capacity

4 Classification and grading
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 The United Nations Number (UN number), official transport name and category of traction lithium batteries shall be determined in accordance with GB 6944, GB 12268 and the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Model Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the "Model Regulations"). The classification and UN number of traction lithium batteries shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
