Artificial intelligence - Service capability maturity assessment
1 Scope
This document proposes an artificial intelligence service capability framework, specifies maturity levels and evaluation scores, and describes evaluation methods.
This document is applicable to the maturity assessment of artificial intelligence service capabilities provided by service providers, as well as the individual assessment of capability domains and capability items in the service capability framework.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 41867 Information technology - Artificial intelligence - Terminology
3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 41867 and the following are applicable to this document.
3.1
capability sub - item
several individual characteristic indicators constituting maturity within the capability subdomain
3.2
factor of capability sub-item
data packets packaged according to communication protocols or custom rules for transmission or exchange
3.3
service availability
service accessible time ratio to total time after a client service request is initiated
Note: Availability is calculated as the proportion of the sum of service available time to the sum of predefined time periods in a series of predefined time periods, and the allowed service unavailable time can be excluded.
3.4
artificial intelligence service capability
foundational capabilities ranging from storage, computing, and data structuring with decision-making to machine learning, along with service capabilities encompassing intelligent speech, natural language understanding, intelligent dialogue, and smart image/video analysis, provided by an AI service
4 Abbreviations
For the purposes of this document, the following abbreviations apply.
API: Application Programming Interface
CPU: Central Processing Unit
GPU: Graphic Process Unit
SDK: Software Development Kit
5 Service Capability Framework
5.1 Overview
The artificial intelligence service capability framework consists of two capability domains. Each capability domain represents a major area division in the maturity level assessment and is composed of a set of related capability items. Each capability item represents several technical capability areas within that domain that constitute the maturity level, and each capability item is composed of a set of related sub-capability items. The artificial intelligence service capability framework is shown in Table 1.
Table 1 Artificial Intelligence Service Capability Framework
5.2 Basic Capabilities
5.2.1 Storage
Storage capabilities shall include:
a) Storage Management: Possess overall management capabilities for data storage systems, including storage capacity and the number of data entries, etc.
b) Diversity: Possess the ability to handle multiple data types and multiple programming languages.
c) Distributed Scalability: Possess the ability to perceive business loads in distributed architecture cluster systems and reduce operational complexity.
d) Others: Possess capabilities in storage service efficiency, equipment fault warning and alarm, storage data recovery, interface convenience, service availability, and other aspects.
5.2.2 Computation
Computation capabilities shall include:
a) Data Computation: Possess the ability to handle complex computational tasks such as ultra-large-scale distributed computing, batch computing, stream computing, graph computing, machine learning computing, and edge computing.
b) Cluster Efficiency: Possess the ability to provide simple and efficient deployment, scheduling, scaling, and management services for large-scale clusters.
c) Stability: Stability of distributed architecture deployment, including capabilities such as automatic fault recovery, rapid migration, and fault-free operation duration.
6 Maturity Levels and Assessment Scores
6.1 Maturity Levels
The maturity levels of artificial intelligence service capabilities are divided into five levels: Initial, Developing, Stable, Advanced, and Exemplary, as shown in Table 2. Each maturity level indicates the maturity level achieved by the artificial intelligence service capability. Improvement and maturity enhancement of artificial intelligence service capabilities are achieved progressively, with higher maturity levels encompassing all requirements of lower maturity levels.
