GB/T 45513-2025 Textiles - Determination of the degree of fiber loss of fabrics - Washing method
1 Scope
This document describes a test method for determining the degree of fiber loss of fabrics by the washing method.
This document is applicable to all kinds of fabrics.

4 Principle
The sample is placed in a certain amount of Grade 3 water, washed by mechanical action in an accelerated way at the specified temperature in the required time; the sample and the washing container are rinsed with water and the water is collected, and the fiber in the Grade 3 water and the washing water are collected on the filter material by a filter device and dried; the filter material loaded with fiber is visually graded to characterize the degree of fiber loss of the sample.
5 Equipment
5.1 Mechanical washing device: It consists of a water bath pot equipped with a rotating shaft. Several stainless steel washing containers (5.2) are supported radially by the rotating shaft. The rotational speed of the rotating shaft and the containers is (40±2) r/min. The temperature of the water bath is controlled by a thermostat to keep the test solution at (40±2) °C (see Figure 1).
Other mechanical devices capable of obtaining the same results as the equipment specified in 5.1 may also be used in this document.
