Information technology - Crowdsourcing service platform - General requirements for functions
1 Scope
This document outlines the workflow of crowdsourcing service platforms and specifies the general requirements for their business functions (user management, task management) and platform support functions.
This document applies to the design, development, and implementation of crowdsourcing service platforms.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
task
work activity conducted to achieve a specific work objective
[Source: GB/T 14002-2008, 3.1.2]
3.2
task requester
individual or organization that initiates crowdsourcing service (3.4) tasks, selects winning solutions from those provided by multiple task workers (3.3), and gains benefits
3.3
task worker
individual or organization that participates in crowdsourcing service (3.4) tasks voluntarily and provides solutions to task requesters (3.2)
3.4
crowdsourcing service
activity where crowdsourcing task requesters (3.2) publish tasks via internet information systems with voluntary participation, and select winning solutions from those provided by multiple unspecified task workers (3.3) to complete tasks
3.5
crowdsourcing service platform
crowdsourcing platform is an
internet information system that provides cooperative relationships and related services for task requesters (3.2) and task workers (3.3) to realize crowdsourcing service (3.4) functions
3.6
crowdsourcing platform user
individual or organization with the right to access specific programs and data in the crowdsourcing platform
task requesters (3.2) and task workers (3.3) are two types of crowdsourcing platform users
3.7
message
information transmitted or exchanged between different objects
4 General principles
4.1 Crowdsourcing service-related entities
The operation of crowdsourcing services involves three types of entities: task requesters, task workers, and crowdsourcing platforms. Among the three types of entities, the crowdsourcing platform occupies a core position and plays an important role as a connecting intermediary, including but not limited to:
a) Providing an internet information system environment for task requesters and task workers to participate in crowdsourcing services;
b) Facilitate communication between the sender and the receiver;
c) Providing process management for crowdsourcing services;
d) Reducing crowdsourcing service costs and improving crowdsourcing service efficiency.
4.2 Crowdsourcing service agreement
To ensure the smooth progress of crowdsourcing services and protect the rights and interests of all parties, crowdsourcing service-related entities shall sign a crowdsourcing service agreement (contract) through equal negotiation. The agreement (contract) should include but not be limited to the following contents:
a) Task completion deadline and location;
b) Working conditions, scope of work, quality inspection standards, and acceptance and verification methods;
c) Remuneration and its provision method;
d) Rights and obligations of all parties;
e) Confidentiality obligations, ownership, right to use, and license of intellectual property rights;
f) Modification, termination, and rescission of the agreement (contract);
g) Methods for resolving and arbitrating disputes or differences arising from the interpretation and performance of the agreement (contract).
4.3 Crowdsourcing service operation modes
4.3.1 Basic model
The operation of crowdsourcing services has a basic model as shown in Figure 1: task requesters submit tasks to the crowdsourcing platform; task workers select and accept tasks on the crowdsourcing platform; task workers submit results to the crowdsourcing platform after completing the tasks; task requesters review the task execution results returned by the crowdsourcing platform; task requesters and task workers exchange messages through the crowdsourcing platform to complete the crowdsourcing service.
For complex tasks, they can be split into multiple subtasks manually or by algorithms, and then the basic model can be used for crowdsourcing to complete iteratively.
4.3.2 Operation modes
The basic model is manifested in the following specific operation modes during the implementation of the crowdsourcing platform.
