3 Terms and Definitions
This document contains no terms requiring definition.
4 Designation System
The grade designation of welding steel wire rods consists of four parts:
a) First part: Chinese phonetic initial H (capital) representing welding steel;
b) Second part: Carbon content (mass fraction);
c) Third part: Main alloying elements arranged in sequence of Mn, Si, Cr, Ni, Mo, Cu, V, Ti, B, Zr, Al. Unlisted elements are arranged in order of content after Al;
d) Fourth part: Steel metallurgical quality. Advanced high-quality steel and special high-quality steel are denoted by A and E respectively, while high-quality steel is unmarked.
