3.1
central-station air handling unit
Air handling equipment assembled from one or more functional sections of the unit.
3.2
functional section of the unit
A unit body that performs one or several air treatment functions.
Note: Functional sections include unit bodies for air mixing, flow equalization, filtration, cooling, heating, dehumidification, humidification, supply fan, return fan, exhaust fan, spray washing, sound attenuation/silencing, heat recovery, sterilization, etc.
3.3

3.4
rated value
The performance value of the unit under the test conditions specified in the standard.
3.5
nominal value
The performance value of the unit under the test conditions declared by the manufacturer.
Note: Performance values for which the manufacturer has not declared test conditions are considered rated values.
3.6
rated air flow rate
The volume flow rate of air passing through the unit per unit time under the test conditions specified in the standard.
Note: The unit is cubic meters per hour (m³/h).
3.7
unit external static pressure
The static pressure difference between the outlet and inlet of the unit, after overcoming its own resistance.
Note: The unit is Pascal (Pa).
3.8
unit external total pressure
The difference between the total pressure at the unit outlet and the total pressure at the unit inlet.
Note: The unit is Pascal (Pa).
3.9
unit total static pressure
The sum of the unit's own resistance and the external static pressure.
Note: The unit is Pascal (Pa).
3.10
face velocity uniformity
The percentage of total measurement points where the absolute difference between the air velocity at any point on the unit's cross-section and the average velocity does not exceed 20% of the average velocity.
Note: Expressed as a percentage.
3.11
specific fan power
The ratio of the unit input power to the air flow rate.
Note: The unit is watt-hour per cubic meter [W/(m³/h)].
